Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium is seeking an entry-level Patient Care Coordination Specialist I to serve as the primary contact for patients and support access to care. Responsibilities include registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and high-quality customer service within a fast-paced health system.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to workflows, and confidentiality, with shift details Tuesday through Saturday, 8am to 5pm, and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED – preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – preferred.
  • One year of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience – preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Basic understanding of front-end revenue cycle and registration requirements.
  • Strong data entry and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate medical equipment including blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, EKG machine.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Registers and pre-registers patients with accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Performs patient check-in and supports self-check-in processes.
  • Monitors appointment confirmations and follows up on unconfirmed appointments.
  • Schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments per protocols.
  • Manages worklists and patient communications to support care teams.
  • Handles travel documents and medical records per policy.
  • Upholds confidentiality and SEARHC Standards of Service Excellence.
  • Supports enrollment in the MySEARHC patient portal.
