Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented front desk/medical office assistant for its Seal Beach location. You will greet patients, coordinate flow, handle intake processes, collect payments and manage appointments, while maintaining accurate medical records.

The role requires at least a High School Diploma, 1+ year of customer service and medical office experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bilingual Korean and English is required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and ability to assist patients in a medical office setting.
• Proficient data entry and basic computer skills.
• Bilingual fluency in Korean and English.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as they arrive and coordinate patient flow.
• Assist with intake/admitting processes and document copying.
• Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles; balance and receipt payments.
• Handle walk-in patients and schedule appointments; manage medical records.
• Process referrals and ensure timely scanning/filing of correspondence.

Location: 1661 Golden Rain Road, Seal Beach, CA

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greets patients as they arrive
• Coordinates patient flow
• Assists patient with intake or admitting processes including copying required documents
• Collects co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles and issues receipts
• Collects, records and balances payments
• Processes walk-in patients and visitors
• Answers phones and schedules appointments
• Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
• Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed in timely manner
• Processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
• Process authorizations for referrals

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of customer serviceexperience
• 1+years of experience working in a medical office setting
• 1+ years of data entry experience
• Bilingual fluency in Korean and English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook) at a beginner level

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience with referrals
• 1+ years of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
