LOPT is seeking a friendly Patient Care Coordinator to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and support the front desk in a fast-paced medical office in Lincoln, Nebraska.

You’ll coordinate appointments, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, handle payments, and communicate with therapists to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of one year of medical front office or healthcare admin experience preferred.
  • Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Register new patients and collect demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and coverage limitations.
  • Obtain and track prior authorizations, referrals, and precertifications to ensure timely care.
  • Notify patients of insurance benefits, estimated financial responsibility, and any authorization requirements.
  • Collect copayments, balances, and process patient payments according to office procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with therapists regarding scheduling needs and patient concerns.
  • Answer multi-line phones and respond promptly to patient inquiries.
