Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a Patient Care Representative/Tech Aide for a per diem position at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME. The role focuses on exceptional customer service, accuracy, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required.
• Attention to detail and typing accuracy required.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to multi task and exceed customer expectations is required.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while simultaneously performing data entry and information intake via phone. Can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect copay, deductible, and coinsurance and explain consent forms.
• Assist patients with iPad check-in process and troubleshoot as needed.
• Recognize when language services are needed and apply them.
• Distribute films/CDs while maintaining HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
• Process outgoing and incoming US and inter-office mail and UPS deliveries.
• Prepare setup for next day’s appointment schedule and flag issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer groups.
• Enter and verify information in systems.
• Respond to scheduling emergencies appropriately.
• Support Customer Care with machine utilization by filling templates.
• Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy and professionalism.
• Keep management informed of potential issues.
• Stay updated on policy changes.
• Assist in patient interview process and prepare scan room.
• Maintain co-pay/petty cash accuracy and daily bank deposits.
• Perform other related duties as required.
