Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the clinical team under supervision. You will prepare patients and rooms, collect histories, handle labs and referrals, and perform front-office duties to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a Specialized Diploma in Medical Assisting; a proactive, collaborative approach and strong computer skills (EMR, MS Office) are essential. Certification readiness within 30 days is expected in PA.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant required.
• Ability to adapt to change within a healthcare setting.
• Initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days (PA).
• Experience with EMR, word processing and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for exams and maintains exam rooms.
• Collects medical history and handles medication refills per protocol.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens and schedules referrals.
• Identifies patient risks and communicates to licensed staff.
• Adheres to EMR workflows and front office duties for patient service.
• Assists with front desk tasks: greet patients, schedule appointments, collect co-pays.
• Updates patient demographics and handles referrals/pre-certifications.
• Delivers patient-centered care in daily activities.
