Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a compassionate per diem/part-time patient care technician to support the Float Staffing team at the Rochester location. This role involves patient bedside monitoring under RN supervision, with a Midnight Shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) and every third weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include remaining at the bedside, calming agitated patients, removing hazards, and precise observation recording. Prior BLS and crisis prevention credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider preferred; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Crisis Prevention certification preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.
• Licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Assists in calming and/or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Removes visible hazards and/or broken equipment from immediate environment and reports as appropriate.
• Records all observations.
