Job summary

Harlem Hospital Center is seeking a Patient Care/Clerical Assistant to support nursing and clinical staff in a health care setting. The role involves essential duties related to patient care under direct supervision of licensed professionals, including specimen collection, basic testing, and assisting with examinations.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with phlebotomy and EKG training, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its educational equivalent.
• Successful completion of phlebotomy and EKG training programs or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Check vital signs and record findings.
• Instruct patients for specimen collection and perform basic screening tests.
• Prepare specimens for transport and labeling.
• Perform vision/hearing screening and simple urinalysis.
• Administer basic first aid and assist in examinations.
• Maintain patient charts and coordinate with clinical staff.
