Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks staff for patient care duties including phlebotomy, EKG-related tasks, and routine testing. The role supports nurses and clinicians under supervision in a hospital setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy and EKG training, and current BLS certification. NYS Nurse’s Aide certification may be required for long-term care assignments.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy and EKG training or similar program completed.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Mansioni

• Check vital signs, weigh and measure patients and record findings.
• Instruct patients on specimen collection and perform basic screening.
• Collect specimens, label and prepare forms for pickup.
• Perform vision/hearing testing and basic urinalysis.
• Provide emergency first aid and basic life support as needed.
• Assist during examinations by supplying equipment and prepping rooms.
• Document patient information and maintain charts and forms.
• Coordinate appointments and enter data into EMR systems.
• Assist in patient education about health services and healthy living.
