Advocate Health is hiring a Nurse Aide I for the Carolinas Medical Center - Nursing: Med Surg 6B in Charlotte, NC. This full-time role (36 hours/week) offers days 7A-7P, every 3rd weekend and some holidays, with benefits eligibility.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, active Nurse Aide I registry listing, and AHA BLS certification. Training includes Nurse Aide I+4 and RN validation before independent duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support HealthCare Provider certification.
• Nurse Aide I+4 Course required: E-learning and instructor-led skills practice.
• Must be validated twice by an RN on each skill before they can perform independently.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Takes vital signs and height and weight measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients according to procedures.
• Maintains patient rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observes and reports changes in patient conditions.
• Instructs patients and families on safety measures.
• Performs clerical tasks: phones, data entry, medical records.
• Maintains stock items in inventory.
• Performs Nurse Aide I tasks and additional duties per state rules.
• Administers 12-Lead EKGs and routine venipuncture.
