Job summary

Sharp is seeking a compassionate unit clerk to support patient care in a busy California facility. You will collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure accurate medical records and efficient unit operations, while greeting patients and coordinating communications.

The role requires an AHA BLS Healthcare certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1 year of relevant experience in geriatrics or acute care settings. On-site shift with variable start/end times.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS Healthcare certification is REQUIRED.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of geriatric or acute care hospital experience required.
• One year experience as unit clerk/secretary preferred.
• Comparable CNA course experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interprofessional team to deliver quality patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Acts as unit communications coordinator, manages medical records and data entry.
• Assists with equipment, supplies and resource management on the unit.
• Greets and communicates with patients and families, answers inquiries and charts diligently.
• Performs admissions/discharges per unit guidelines and coordinates transfers.
