Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a unit clerk / care assistant to collaborate with an interprofessional team in delivering quality patient care under a licensed nurse's direction. The role supports care processes and medical record management on the unit while ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and staff.

The candidate should have a HS diploma or CNA-related equivalent, AHA BLS certification, and at least 1 year of geriatric or acute hospital experience.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS Healthcare Certification is required.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year recent geriatric setting experience or 1 year acute care hospital experience.
• 1 year experience as unit clerk/secretary.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interprofessional team to deliver quality patient/resident care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Delivers care considering age-specific needs.
• Maintains unit communications and primary medical record management.
• Facilitates patient data management through transcription, order entry and documentation.
• Assists in equipment, supplies and department resources management.
• Greets and communicates with patients and visitors, handling calls and messages efficiently.
