Qualifications

At Avenues Home Care, our caregivers are our front line and most common representatives. As a Patient Care Assistant - PCA, you will care for the elderly, vulnerable, disabled, and those who cannot care for themselves. You are required to prioritize the client’s needs and perform the following duties with the utmost care. Our office provides caregivers for the local area, including Rossville, Woodland Hills, Lakeview, and others.

Patient Care Assistant - PCA Primary Responsibilities
  1. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in the client’s plan of care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, transferring, eating, and continence care.
  2. Assist with medication management, housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, feeding, shopping, transportation, and companionship.
  3. Perform other household tasks as specified in the care plan.
  4. Report daily activities to your supervisor via the management system and logs, and communicate through other channels as needed.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Practice safety at all times
  • Lift or push up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Demonstrate honesty, accountability, and integrity
  • Provide high-quality care
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition
  • Maintain personal appearance and adhere to dress code
  • Report promptly for shifts and schedule changes
  • Report abuse or neglect immediately
  • Document behaviors and conditions accurately
  • Maintain confidentiality and attend training sessions
  • Follow all company policies and HIPAA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Good communication skills
