Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Cardiac, 12 Hour AM

UC Health is hiring a full-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the day shift to support the Cardiac unit at UC Medical Center.

The Patient Care Assistant will provide basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical professional personnel in accordance with delegation law and rules and current education. This position will work at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic direct patient care as delegated, maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe environment.
  • Measure vital signs, report changes, assist with activities of daily living, hygiene, and comfort measures.
  • Change linens, empty drainage bags, dispose of waste, and utilize patient care equipment.
  • Assist with respiratory care, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose testing.
  • Communicate observations to RN, document treatments, and respond to nurse call system.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment, restock supplies, and report maintenance issues.
  • Ensure patient safety measures such as call lights, identification bands, side rails, and restraints are properly used.
