Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Luke's Health-Sugar Land Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and assist nursing staff with vital signs and room preparation.

You will help with hygiene, mobility, feeding, and daily weight measurements, while documenting intake and output. CPR training is required within 14 days of hire; High School diploma or GED is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of direct patient care experience or nursing school graduation preferred.
• CPR certification within 14 days of hire.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living.

As our Patient Care Assistant, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output


• Obtains and records daily weight


• Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter

Pay Range

$19.49 - $27.52 /hour
