Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Luke's Health-Memorial Livingston location is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily activities and comfort, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding.

You will assist nursing staff with vital sign monitoring, room preparation, and basic care tasks, while staying observant of changes in patient conditions and open to coaching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Graduate of accredited nursing program or 1 year direct patient care experience preferred

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weight
• Performs blood glucose testing using a glucose meter

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
