We are the premier pediatric medical center specializing in burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and other pediatric subspecialties. We have a Part Time PRN position available for a Patient Care Assistant II in our Outpatient Department.

Our schedule features weekends and major holidays off, including New Year, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Parking is provided free of charge by Shriners.

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) supports physicians, RNs, and the interdisciplinary team by performing assigned tasks under supervision. Responsibilities include:

1. Room patients and obtain vital signs for pediatric patients from infants to 21 years old with orthopedic, reconstructive plastic, and rehabilitation conditions.
2. Gather and document patient clinical information provided by patients, parents, or guardians.
3. Perform procedures in accordance with state guidelines and regulations.
4. Serve as the initial contact for all patients and families visiting the Outpatient Department.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• One year of pediatric care experience preferred.
