Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily life activities, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding. You will support nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and prepare patient rooms to maintain a clean, safe environment.

In this role you will monitor and record vital signs, assist with basic care tasks, document intake and output, weigh patients daily, and perform point-of-care glucose testing.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
• High School GED General Studies, upon hire
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weight
• Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Pay Range

$16.06 - $22.69 /hour
