Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient comfort, and help create a family-centered care environment.

Requires a high school diploma, BLS/HeartSaver certification within 30 days of hire, and a willingness to learn. This full-time role offers a 36-hour week with varied shifts on the Morgantown campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care by providing basic physical care per RN direction.
• Help patients with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Transport patients and specimens safely within the facility.
• Perform glucose monitoring, urine/stool testing, and maintain QC logs.
• Perform routine phlebotomy and record vital signs.
• Support physicians and RNs during examinations and procedures.
