Job summary

Prime Healthcare through Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing tasks under RN supervision. Per diem, night shift, hospital setting.

Candidates should have CNA certification, high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred phlebotomy and EKG credentials with BLS current or within 30 days of hire. Competitive benefits and ongoing training are offered.

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

Pay Transparency

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $21.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
