Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) performs direct care, assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and maintains a safe environment under RN supervision, ensuring activities do not distract from primary responsibilities like dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Certification in Patient Care (M.A., CNA, EMT, Paramedic, etc.)
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (preferred to maintain)
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate (required to maintain)
• Six months experience as Monitor Technician (preferred)
• Current Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
• Current EKG certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Minimum six months experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office (preferred)

Facility Specific Requirements

• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire (required to maintain)
