The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to all patients, and assisting in maintaining a safe environment under the supervision of the RN, ensuring activities do not distract from primary responsibilities such as dysrhythmia monitoring.
