Shift: Per Diem (PRN), Night Shift 12 Hour Work Week

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified individual who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to all patients, and helping maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the RN, as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (e.g., M.A., CNA, EMT, Paramedic, Patient Care Tech).
3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintaining current preferred.
4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintaining current.
5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
8. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (may vary by facility):

1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintaining current per facility requirement.

Holy Family Medical Center offers competitive compensation; the estimated starting salary for this role is $24.26 per hour. The final offer will consider factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure at the time of hire.
