The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified individual who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to all patients, and helping maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the RN, as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
