Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego seeks a Patient Care Assistant for a full-time role on a Telemetry/Stepdown unit. The position is benefit-eligible with 12-hour day shifts (6:30am–7:00pm) over a 72-hour schedule every two weeks, requiring teamwork and patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate has one year of related experience OR nursing assistant training, speaks English fluently, and holds BLS certification; CNA is preferred. The role is based at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider or current nursing assistant training enrollment/completion
• RN program enrollment through the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association
• CNA certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
• Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, ensures safety and comfort
• Supports patient care under clinician direction within scope of practice
• Assists with unit logistics, clerical tasks, equipment and supply handling, and charge reconciliation
