Job summary

Trinity Health Muskegon is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for a full-time position on the 12-hour night shift. The PCA provides patient hygiene support, assists with activities of daily living, and helps transport patients under RN direction.

The role emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care consistent with the organization's mission, with a set weekend rotation and holidays per CBA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA or 6 months of direct Patient Care Assistant or Nurse Tech experience, or completion of at least 1 clinical rotation in Nursing School, or enrollment in Trinity Health Muskegon PCA program.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral; ability to communicate with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient call lights for assistance or by rounding.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene including showers, oral hygiene and dressing/undressing.
• Transport patients as needed for procedures, transfers or discharge.
• Maintain a clean and uncluttered environment in patient rooms.

Set rotating schedule to include set weekend rotation up to every other weekend. Schedule will be given after successfully completing the orientation period. Management does have discretion to change schedule 30 days prior to the start of the 6-week scheduling periods if needed. Holidays scheduled in accordance with CBA
