Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) seeks a Patient Care Assistant – Apprentice for the February 2027 LEAP Cohort at Moody Outpatient Center, 5th Floor, Dallas. You will learn basic hygiene care, vital signs, ROM, feeding, lifting and ambulation under supervision.

Additional training includes sanitation, infection control, safety, supplies and equipment usage, and monitoring the patient environment. A Heartsaver CPR card must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Competenze

• Completes one of Parkland's grant funded or non-grant funded job specific training programs after being hired or reclassed into the position.
• Must be able to learn and effectively perform specific patient care techniques and requirements.
• Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.

Mansioni

• Learn specific patient care activities including basic hygiene care, non-sterile treatments, taking vital signs, assisting with range of motion exercises, lifting, ambulating and feeding patients.
• Learn sanitation, infection control, safety, supplies and equipment usage.
• Learn to monitor condition of patient environment and equipment and correct issues.
• Takes responsibility for own education and professional growth by attending in-service sessions, department meetings, workshops, and reading magazines or journals on nursing care.
• Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
