Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support role at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. The position provides professional and nonprofessional nursing care under physician orders and supports daily operations with administrative tasks.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma, one year of clerical experience, and familiarity with phone systems. Preferred experience in medical offices and strong customer service skills are expected in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• One year of related office or clerical experience.
• Experience with phone systems or switchboard.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Greet and provide intake services to departmental visitors and screen calls.
• Monitor patients in waiting areas and assist with basic care per policy.
• Process calls quickly and route to appropriate personnel.
• Obtain registrations data and coordinate examinations across departments.
• Handle records requests and liaise with other facilities for prior exams.
• Assist with department workflow and patient transport as needed.
