Job summary

Harboroaks is seeking a dedicated individual to provide one-on-one or group instruction and daily support to patients. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, vehicle checks when driving is involved, data tracking, meal prep, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role emphasizes empathy, professionalism, and responsiveness to patient needs, with emphasis on safety and collaborative objectives. HS diploma and 21+ age required; valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with program activities.
• Complete routine daily check of van and report deficiencies if driving is required.
• Accurately monitor and maintain data collection sheets and submit to supervisor on time.
• Assist with assessment of clients' strengths and needs as necessary.
• Assist with preparation of clients' meals and provide client training as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor to revise, delete, or add training objectives as deemed necessary.
• Physically assist in maintaining the facility in a neat and orderly manner.
• Monitor and document individual behaviors using descriptive terms (e.g., changes, accidents, seizures).
• Encourage individuals to be independent and participate in activities.
• Provide positive assurance to individuals regarding benefits of treatment and participation.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by promoting skill learning and choice through activities and guidance.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers; address complaints and prioritize safety.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
