Job summary

Charleston ENT & Allergy in Charleston, SC is seeking a Medical Billing Customer Service Representative to join the Central Billing Office. You will be the first contact for patients with billing questions, assist with account resolutions, and help ensure timely payments.

This role requires strong communication, detail orientation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; prior healthcare billing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of patient billing, claims submission, and insurance requirements is a plus.
• Previous collections experience in a healthcare setting is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Represent the practice with professionalism and handle inbound patient calls.
• Explain financial responsibilities and insurance coverage to patients.
• Assist patients with resolving claims and addressing past-due balances.
• Set up and manage payment plans to ensure timely payments.
• Make outbound calls to support collections efforts.
