Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha is seeking a Billing Specialist responsible for electronic claims submission, billing and collections of patient accounts. Work schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

You will handle EDI and paper claims, review EOBs, correct denials, and follow up with third-party payers to support accurate reimbursement. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma; coursework in coding, billing or healthcare management is preferred, and prior healthcare billing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Coursework in Coding, Billing or Healthcare Management preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare billing/claims experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electronic and hardcopy billing; submits claims per guidelines.
• Follow up on accounts with third party payers and manage denials.
• Review EOBs and correct/complete claim information in Source System.
• Prepare secondary/tertiary billings and document actions taken.
• Audit patient accounts to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
