Select Medical is seeking a Patient Billing Representative, Level 1, to handle the daily billing process and ensure accurate claims. The role emphasizes multitasking, strong computer skills, and maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The position offers orientation, PTO, health and vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities for referral and performance bonuses. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour with no weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience – Retail/Hospitality/Banking/Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Reviews admission documents and verifies information in HMS.
• Processes daily billing and ensures claims are billed within 24 hours of placement into the clearinghouse database.
• For Commercial accounts, compares HMS to Insurance Contract Requirements for accuracy.
• For Medicare accounts, bills MSP accounts and follows up until finalized.
• Resolves late charges per policy.
• Verifies insurance company receipt of bill within 10 days of billed date.
• Weekly follow-up on billed accounts for 35 days post-bill date or until payment is issued.
• Documents HMS activity in patient accounts accurately.
• Communicates issues to billing and collection staff.
• Performs duties and projects as assigned by CBO management.
