Job summary

Cherry County Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Patient Financial Services Representative to support the hospital revenue cycle, including patient accounting, accounts receivable, and claim processing. The role emphasizes accurate billing, timely submissions, and adherence to compliance requirements.

The position reports to the Controller and requires handling sensitive financial information with confidentiality in a full-time, on-site setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• 1 to 3 years of customer service and/or business office experience, ideally in a medical setting.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows is preferred.
• Knowledge of collection laws, third-party reimbursement, and basic hospital accounting.

Responsibilities

• Works daily electronic billing file and submits insurance claims to third-party payers.
• Posts monies received from all payor types (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, HMO, PPO, and patients).
• Bills and ensures timely claim submission and reimbursement, with proper account documentation in the billing system.
• Researches and resolves issues on outstanding balances and supports follow-up efforts on aged accounts.
• Obtains pre-authorizations for services when required by the payor.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and complies with corporate policies.
