Summit Medical Group is seeking a Patient Relations Specialist to identify, investigate and resolve billing issues on patient accounts. This full-time role works Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the potential for remote work after completing training.

Responsibilities include handling patient calls, responding to inquiries, updating and auditing accounts, and coordinating with insurers. High school diploma or GED required; one year in medical billing preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer one year of experience in a medical billing setting.

Responsabilités

• Answers patient calls related to their accounts and formulates solutions when appropriate.
• Responds to written patient inquiries and formulates solutions when appropriate.
• Assists in maintaining, updating and auditing the patient account information.
• Transfers charges to the correct agency or carrier, when appropriate.
• Communicates with insurance companies as needed.
• Adjusts patient accounts according to established policies and procedures.
• Communicates appropriate problems, questions and / or concerns to supervisor.
• Assists colleagues in department and other office personnel, as appropriate.
• Displays initiative, when appropriate, while investigating patient inquiries and handling other assignments.
• Adheres to all elements of the established corporate compliance plan.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
• Performs related work as assigned.
