Job summary

Qualifications

• Two or more years in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, patient accounting, or insurance follow-up.
• Experience reviewing EOBs, ERAs, patient balances, and claim adjudication.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans.
• Strong understanding of patient financial responsibility, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and COB.
• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency with EHR, practice management systems, payer portals, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalated patient billing inquiries via phone, email, tickets, and referrals.
• Review accounts to verify balances and ensure claims adjudication support.
• Identify billing errors, missing payments, or misapplied charges and correct them.
• Discuss insurance eligibility, coverage, and COB with payers and patients.
• Educate patients on financial responsibility and available payment options.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and communicate findings clearly.
