Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years in a structured business environment required.
• 2-3 years in hospital/physician office or insurance environment preferred.
• CPAR certification or within two years of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares billing and follow ups on claims in a timely manner.
• Performs accurate and timely billing and account reviews before sending to payors.
• Conducts account review and updates billing information for submissions.
• Prepares adjustment bills, rebills, and reprints as needed.
• Processes failed claims according to carrier requirements.
• Coordinates with precertification staff on requirements.
• Prepares daily productivity reports.
• Serves as liaison between patient, employer, and carrier to resolve issues.
• Communicates claim status to patient and employer.
• Processes patient inquiries within 24 hours.
• Assists with Customer Service coverage as needed.
• Follows guidelines and uses ChartMaxx and CMS rules; attends updates.
