Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Customer Service Representative I to serve as the primary contact for patients’ balance, benefits, and insurance questions. You will handle calls and electronic messages, document details in our billing system, and follow established protocols to resolve inquiries with empathy and professionalism.

The role includes assisting with billing tasks, entering data in CRM systems, and collaborating with provider offices to ensure accurate accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, medical billing, accounts receivable, or related duties.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 used in medical billing.
• English usage, grammar and spelling; basic math.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and log data in CRM; entering data in Epic CRM and billing systems.
• Process credit card payments and route calls to appropriate teams.
• Follow workflows and training; assist providers and patients with balance inquiries.
• Identify payer/credentialing issues and address them with management.
• Maintain timely communication with management via phone, email, and chat.
