Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required; medical billing certificate and/or training is preferred
• Experience: Two-years of medical business office experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes all statements for in-house and discharged patients.
• Maintains follow-up and collection activity via letters, calls and personal contact.
• Maintains patient financial file and documents; explains hospital policies to patients/guarantors/families.
• Performs verification of benefits and patient financial assessments; assists with Medicaid applications and related clerical tasks.
