Job summary

Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility) in Dearborn, MI is hiring a Patient Account Rep to process statements for in-house and discharged patients, maintain follow-up collections, and guide families on hospital billing policies.

Responsibilities include benefits verification, patient financial assessments, Medicaid applications, and related clerical duties to support revenue cycle operations. This is an in-person office role within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
• Medical billing certificate and/or training is preferred.
• Two years of medical business office experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes statements for in-house and discharged patients.
• Maintains follow-up and collection activity via calls, letters, and communications.
• Manages patient financial file and documents hospital policies for patients/guarantors.
• Performs verification of benefits, patient financial assessments, and Medicaid applications.
• Handles related clerical duties as assigned.
