Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Patient Account Rep at Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility) in Dearborn, MI. This full-time, in-person role handles statements for in-house and discharged patients, follows up on collections, and maintains patient financial records in accordance with hospital policies.

Responsibilities include verification of benefits, patient financial assessments, Medicaid applications support, and other clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required; medical billing certificate and/or training is preferred.
• Experience: Two-years of medical business office experience is strongly preferred.
• This is an in-person office position.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Account Rep processes all statements on in-house and discharged patients.
• Maintains follow-up and collection activity including letters, telephone and personal contact.
• Maintains patient financial file and documentation, advises, informs and assists the patient/guarantor/family in regard to hospital financial policies.
• Verifies benefits, conducts patient financial assessments, and assists patients with Medicaid applications and other clerical responsibilities.
