Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic healthcare and insurance terminology knowledge.
• High level of timeliness and accuracy.
• Ability to navigate insurance websites for patient information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update patient accounts to resolve balances and maximize reimbursement.
• Answer patient, insurance and client calls and respond to correspondence promptly.
• Act as liaison between Patient Accounts, physician offices, insurance carriers, clinical areas and third party payers to assist with documentation requests and eligibility issues.
• Review past due self-pay balances for assignment to outside collection sources or payment plans.
• Monitor electronic claims transmission, research and resolve rejections, perform charge corrections and post payments.
• Reconcile payments daily with financial accounting and handle billing, eligibility, and follow-up activities as needed.
