Responsibilities

• Engages in core revenue cycle functions such as billing, claims filing, data entry, charge entry, insurance follow up, denial management, payment posting, customer service, and billing records review.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines; follows department policies and procedures.
• Prepares and submits clean claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper accurately and timely.
• Processes assigned reports, worklists, and patient accounts with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborates with management and coworkers in an open, positive manner.
• Communicates with patients regarding their accounts, answers billing questions, and explains payment options.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and benefits; coordinates with insurers to resolve discrepancies.
• Duties may be adjusted by management as needed.
