Job summary

Sleep Management, LLC dba Viemed is seeking a Health Information Specialist to support the revenue cycle and medical records operations. The role involves reviewing insurance explanations of benefits, medical documentation, and records requests from various sources to ensure accurate processing.

You will monitor audit logs, perform quality audits, and communicate with patients, physicians, and internal teams to support optimal patient care and compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits from insurance companies.
• Working knowledge of government, regulatory billing and compliance for Medicare & Medicaid.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04, HIPAA, billing regulations and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures to answer questions from internal and external customers.
• Utilizes initiative while maintaining productivity with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand Insurance policies and standard Explanation of Benefits.
• Review and understand medical documentation effectively.
• Review and resolve requests for medical records for claims, audits, and external entities.
• Monitor and maintain audit logs.
• Perform internal audits for quality assurance.
• Manage medical records for patients at home medical equipment providers.
• Communicate with patients, physicians’ offices and internal teams for patient benefit.
• Perform clerical tasks such as calling, faxing and emailing.
• Report concerns to Revenue Cycle Manager and Supervisor.
• Handle other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
