Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Admissions Coordinator for UAB St. Vincent's Chilton in Clanton, AL. This part-time role handles inpatient and outpatient admissions, registers patients, explains hospital policies, assigns rooms when needed, and supports insurance matters.

You will collect demographics and financial information, obtain signatures, handle pre-certifications, verify insurance, and communicate with patients and families. EPIC experience preferred; strong customer service required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service abilities and communication skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and patient registration helpful.
• Experience verifying medical insurances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatient and outpatient admissions; obtain demographics and insurance information.
• Enter data on admitting forms; explain hospital regulations and assign rooms when needed.
• Prepare identification bracelets and assist in insurance matters.
• Act as liaison between patients, families, visitors and hospital staff.
• Obtain signatures on consents; perform pre-certifications and collect deposits as needed.
• Notify stakeholders of insurance coverage issues and update patient files in the system.
• Review physician orders for required information and ensure completeness.
