Job summary

Upper Great Lakes Family Health is seeking a Patient Account Assistant to post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and perform limited reporting and balancing of daily transactions.

Responsibilities include posting insurance and patient payments, contractual adjustments, refunds, and recoupment, and monitoring underpayments while assisting with Care Management claim submissions. Proficiency with medical terms and CPT/ICD-10 coding is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient preparing correspondence and simple reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and/or CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• Experience in healthcare billing, preferred.
• Experience utilizing an electronic health record system, preferred.
• Basic level of written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
