Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; 6+ years in hospital/provider billing may substitute for degree.
• CHFP certification within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of basic patient accounting processes and healthcare terminology.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, financial and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Patient Financial Services department.
• Manage billing, accounts receivable and payment posting to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Lead and supervise billing staff; enforce HIPAA compliance; analyze financial reports and optimize reimbursement.
• Standardize daily and monthly routine processes.
• Monitor collections, charge resolution and cash posting for quality and accuracy.
• Stay informed on payer contracts and regulatory changes and inform staff accordingly.
• Maintain payer portals for billing accuracy.
• Report to Revenue Cycle Director on improvement opportunities.
