Milwaukee Health Services is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage medical claims, ensure timely submission and follow-up for all payer types, and maximize revenue. This full-time role supports efficient revenue cycle operations in a busy clinic environment.

This position requires HIPAA compliance, high attention to detail, and strong teamwork. You will resolve charges daily, rebill denials within 60 days, monitor AR under 45 days, handle appeals, and document actions in the EHR.

Formación

• 2+ years of revenue cycle experience in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Understanding of insurance payers and reimbursement processes.
• HIPAA/PHI compliance experience.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Resolve all charges in the Charge Review Work Queue daily.
• Resolve all assigned claims in Claim Edit Work Queue daily.
• Resolve all payor rejections in the Follow Up Work Queue within 10 working days.
• Research and rebill/resolve all claim denials within 60 days of denial.
• Research and rebill all claims with no response from the payer within 60 days.
• Monitor AR days for assigned departments, keeping AR days under 45.
• Independently work to resolve claim denials to obtain payment.
• Process appeals within payer contract timely filing requirements.
• Research credit balances to determine refunds; submit as needed.
• Document actions in the EHR with clear notes.
• Contribute to Billing Department with professionalism and teamwork.
• Attend educational activities and team meetings.
• Maintain strict confidentiality per HIPAA/PHI rules.
