Mayo Clinic is hiring for a billing and reimbursement specialist in Minnesota. This hybrid role requires proximity to Mayo Clinic campuses for on-site needs. You will oversee billing, insurance reviews, denials, and patient communications across outpatient and related services.

The ideal candidate has pharmacy experience with prior authorizations, HFMA certification preferred, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. On-site hours are 8-5, with additional shifts as volume requires.

Qualifications

• Associate degree + 1 year billing/collection experience in medical, pharmacy or durable medical equipment.
• Or high school diploma + 3 years' experience in medical billing, or certified pharmacy tech with 2 years.
• Ideal candidate will have pharmacy experience and prior authorization submission.
• CPHT, MAA or LPN preferred.
• Must have strong human relations, communication, problem solving and organization.
• Experience with Windows-based software, Word, Excel and Internet; keyboarding required.
• HFMA certification preferred; claims management software experience desirable.

Responsabilités

Responsibilities

HYBRID: This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of any of the Mayo Clinic campuses for on-site expectations based on business needs.

Institutional Insurance and reimbursement expert for one or more of the following business lines: outpatient pharmacy, durable medical equipment, skilled nursing facility, home health agency or continuing care retirement center. Performs all aspects of the billing and collection processes for the individual business lines across the enterprise. These processes include service pre-certification, insurance coverage review and personal responsibility determination, communications with patients, claim submissions, denial review, rebilling, appeals, and accounts receivable management. Utilizes skills in problem solving, customer service, and communications (verbal and written) in interactions with patients and internal customers to resolve a variety of account, billing and payment issues for patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technicians and social workers. Interprets, applies and communicates Mayo Clinic policies regarding financial aspects of patient care to assure optimal reimbursement for both the patient and Mayo Clinic.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in finance, business or healthcare related majors and 1 year experience in medical, pharmacy or durable medical equipment billing and collection activities

OR

High School diploma/GED with at least 3 years' experience in medical, pharmacy or durable medical equipment billing and collection activities, or certified pharmacy tech with 2 years of experience.

Ideal candidate will have pharmacy experience and submitting prior authorizations.

CPHT, MAA, or LPN preferred.

Qualified candidate must possess strong human relations, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills to interact with a variety of customers and personnel, both within and outside the institution. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Candidate should have experience working with Windows based software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet. Keyboarding experience required. Claims management software experience desired. Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.
