Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA is seeking candidates for the Earn While You Learn Trainee Program. This full-time, benefit-inclusive role supports patient access, including calls, scheduling, visit registration, and billing within ambulatory operations.

During training you will earn $16.00/hour with benefits; after successful completion, the rate is $17.50/hour. The program pays course fees and requires a 1-year commitment as an employee.

Qualifications

• Basic PC knowledge and experience with word processing, telephone, and office equipment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to write legibly and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, schedule and register patients, and maintain appointment schedules.
• Handle funds, receipts, deposits and maintain privacy per policy.
• Utilize electronic medical records and collaborate with care teams to resolve issues.
• Create and send no-show/cancellation letters and reschedule as needed.
