Supervises the daily operation of the Patient Access Management Department. Assists the Director in assuring hospital compliance with Advanced Beneficiary Notification (ABN), Medicare as a secondary payer questionnaires (MSQP), Advanced Directives, Patient Bill of Rights and responsibilities, medical necessity, observation status, and other regulatory guidelines.

Compensation for the role is $60,411-$75,514 USD per year.
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
Minimum Education: Associate degree required or obtained within 3 years of hire or transfer. High School Diploma required in the interim.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years’ experience as Supervisor, Lead and or trainer in Patient Access or Business Office setting. In-depth knowledge of Third-Party Billing requirements in a hospital computerized setting, experienced in Windows software required. Experience in EPIC Cadence and Prelude highly desirable. Experience working in a union environment preferred.

Working Conditions: Flexibility in schedule is necessary, including traveling to other sites as staffing and volume dictates. May receive staff inquiries on off-hours. May be exposed to adverse conditions including possible emergency conditions. Frequent contact with physicians, insurance companies, department managers, co-workers, charge nurses, coroners, funeral directors, and the public. Ability to communicate effectively while exercising a high degree of tact and poise and occasionally overcoming language barrier. Primarily day shift, weekdays with evenings and weekends as necessary.
