Job summary

MercyOne in Des Moines is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to lead a fast-paced patient access team on the 2nd shift. You will supervise, mentor colleagues, and ensure smooth operations that deliver an exceptional patient experience.

You will manage registration, admissions, insurance verification, financial clearance and point-of-service cash handling, with a focus on improving processes and outcomes. A high school diploma and 2–3 years in Pre-service or Patient Access with supervisory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2–3 years in Pre-service or Patient Access with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
• National HFMA CRCR, NAHAM CHAA &/or NAHAM CHAM certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire: hands-on leadership with rounding, huddles, and mentorship.
• Drive performance: plan and execute to meet fiscal year goals.
• Champion process improvement: identify efficiency opportunities and roll out initiatives.
• Support education: assess training needs and provide tools and knowledge.
• Collaborate and communicate: partner with leadership to foster accountability and engagement.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Two (2) to three (3) years experience working in a Pre-service or Patient Access operations with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
• Obtain National certification in HFMA CRCR, NAHAM CHAA & / or NAHAM CHAM required within one (1) year of hire.

(Exempt Compensation: $46,000 - $68,000) *rounded compensation range*
