Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years of college preferred, strong typing, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, staff, and insurers.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required; 2 years college preferred.
• Experience in patient registration, verification and authorization in a medical center or comparable institution.
• Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement criteria preferred.
• Ability to type 40 WPM, complete forms, and enter data accurately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, medical staff, and insurers.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately for services at the facility.
• Verify patient benefits for non pre-registered patients.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance at time of service.
• Ensure efficient, complete, and timely patient registration.
